Welcome!
This is my blog and it's mostly about knitting and yarn but also about other aspects of my life - books, movies, football (soccer), food, travels, my work as an archivist.

kaffe fassett

Prince Eugen's former home Waldemarsudde is now a art museum. Prince Eugen, 1865-1947, was an artist himself and also an art collector. When he died his home became a museum and one of the exhibitions at Waldemarsudde at the moment is both old and new works by Kaffe Fassett. The museum is showing his knitting, needlework and patchwork. So after work I took some of my co-workers - Andrea, Stina, Ylva-  with me and visited the museum. And we all liked what we saw. His quilts are amazing.

But I think most of his knitting is to much, great colours but just to much.... or so I thought. Today I fell in love with a couple of his sweater designs and I bought yarn and pattern for a pair of mittens.

Yarn: Rowan Scottish Tweed and a pattern designed by Kaffe Fassett.

I have soon new wallpapers in my livning room. This is how it look at this moment: Bare walls with no wallpaper at all. I can't wait to see the final result.

i agree with you completely ... the color sense and aesthetic that make fassett's quilts gorgeous don't always translate well to knitting. but i have seen some patterns of his that i really liked. they tend to be the less exuberant ones! and those mittens are great. :)
