Welcome!
This is my blog and it's mostly about knitting and yarn but also about other aspects of my life - books, movies, football (soccer), food, travels, my work as an archivist.

September is the month with the most birthdays in my calender. Look at this, the first 15 days in September:
September 3: Emil
September 4: Carina
September 6: Anna and Synnöve
September 8: Rolf and the lovely Me.
September 9: Kerstin
September 11: Manuel
September 13: Inga-Britt
September 14: Roger and Jonatan
September 15: Pernilla and Rickard
And yes, it's my 37th birthday today! Happy Birthday to me. It has been a really good day, but a lot of work. Meet up with some friends after work and had a drink. A nice evening.
I have nothing to show you in the knitting department. I haven't knit a single stitch for weeks. Mostly due to my move to my new apartment. And yes, Katarina, I do know where my yarn stash is, in my apartment chaos.

Just a quick note to say "Hi". I have now made the move. And I'm totally worn out, my feet are aching and so does the rest of my body. I'm sitting in my sofa, in my living room, with moving boxes all around me. I haven't found my lamps, but I found some candle light holders, so it is really cosy here. But I will soon go to bed..

I would like to say THANKS to the movers. You were GREAT!
Anders, Thomas, Helena (and Georg), Katarina, Monica, Annica, Matte (and Linnea) and for last weekend Marika and Micke. And Ia for some of the boxes.

I have started my move to my new and bigger apartment. Woo hoo! Yesterday I moved some of my clothes and today Micke, Marika's boyfriend, drove about 10 boxes of kitchen ware, yarn and clothes to my apartment. The big move is scheduled for next weekend.

I'm breaking my vacation this week and I'll go back to work for 3 days. But I'm leaving town for 3 days, I'm going to Uppsala, and take part of the Nordic Archives Days. So that means I will take a break from bloging, so next post will be from my new apartment!
See you!

you've got mail, part two
I told you last week I enjoyed being home when the postman comes to your doorstep. Today I had a delievery man at my door step with a package from my Secret Pal. Oh my! There was a lot of goodies in this package (as usual)!

A lots of goodies wraped in beautiful blue and green paper! This woman knows what I like! And when I opened it... Well, I know you are curious, so look at this:

Patterns for a pair of socks and a hat, yarn for those patterns - The SRK Collection, Truffles for the hat and a sock yarn, Austermann, needles, stitch markers, post-it-notes and a knitting mystery book - "Knit One, Kill Two" by Maggie Sefton. Can't wait to read this one!!

My secret pal is Rae, in East Lansing, MI. You may know her as ExtravaYarnza.
Dear Rae! It was a pleasure to have you as my Secret Pal! I have actually been lurking your blog for a while, wondering if you were my SP. (Well, I was lurking on other Michigan blogs too...) And I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the beautiful things I got from you! Great patterns and yarn to match! I hope we keep in touch! THANK YOU, thank you, thank you, Sweetheart!

Today, my friend Marika and I, took one of the old steamships, Norrskär, to the small but beautiful town of Vaxholm. Vaxholm is a genuine small archipelago town with many summer guests.

the steamship Norrskär
The journey to Vaxholm takes about 1 h and 10 minutes. And it's a great way to travel. On this ship you can eat and drink. And you can sit outside and really enjoy the sun and the scenery. A lot of small islands with (mostly) summer houses. If you come to Stockholm, this is one of things you have to do!

arriving to Vaxholm with the steamship
We just strolled around the streets and browsed the small interior stores and clothes stores. We had a great time. We had some ice cream and we had lunch. A perfect summer day with a good friend. And we talked a lot about of apartments. She and her boyfriend has also a new and a bigger apartment to move in to in a month.

a part of the old Vaxholm
Vaxholm is a old "summer town". Summer guests began streaming in at the end of the 19th century when boat service became more frequent. The elegant summer villas on the islands around Vaxholm and along the channel from Stockholm serve as reminders of this era.

As always you can find more picture's from this trip om my flickr.

Thank you all for the great comments on my new look!

I've got a new look! That is, my blog has a new look! I had been thinking of this for a while and I found something that I like, so I will try this look for a while. What do you think? I know I have to change the size of some of the photo's, but I will do that later.
I have not knitted a single stitch this week. It has been to hot and I have done a lot of packing. Can't believe all the stuff I've collected all this years.. But I have hard times to throw things out - a bad quality for an archivist, I know. And during the past 11 years both my grandmother and her mother has passed away, so I've got some stuff from those ladies I can't throw out! But I actually gave a bag of clothes to charity today, so I got rid of something.
Laste night I was moon gazing. The moon was incredible last night, so full and so bright, and I was a bit moonstruck. I tried to take a picture of that moon, but the picture's can not show what I saw live.

You all know that I'm a big sports freak, and this week we have 19th European Athletics Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden (or Göteborg as we call it). And so far it has been a success for Sweden. Gold for Carolina Klüft in Heptathlon, Silver for Johan Wissman in men's 200 m and bronze for Stefan Holm, in men's high jump. And the week is not over. The ladie's high jump, 100 m hurdles and men's triple jump are events for Swedish success, I hope!

I got some mail today. It´s so nice to be home when the postman arrive at your doorsteep and when he/she give you some mail. First up was my copy of Interweave Knits. So I poured up fresh coffee and sat in my sofa looking and drooling over some really nice sweaters.

1. Equinox Yoke Pullover 2 Glasgow Lace. 3. Supernova Pullover 4. Swallowtail Shawl.
And I got a postcard from my Secret Pal, in Michigan, USA. I had not heard from her for a while so it was really nice to get a sign from her. And I have a package to wait for. Can't wait!

I can't live without my music. I have always something spinning in my cd player. Rock, pop, soul, disco, country. At the moment, the Swedish act Bo Kaspers Orkester, a mixed between pop/soul/jazz - laid back summer music. Have you noticed that you can see what I'm listening to? You can check out my weekly charts at last.fm. Here is my latest played tracks:

And you can join last.fm too. You can build your own radio station, with music you like. No more Britney, *NSync, Tomas Ledin. And, yes, you can find knitters out here to, the knitting circle. Will I meet you there?

My Secret Pal spoilee has found me, due to comments by Tove and Katarina on acechick's blog. She followed random links and finally found me. My spoilee is Claire and she lives in London's glamorous E2 neighbourhood. Go to her blog and say "Hi". She´s home in bed due to illness! Get well soon, Claire! And I hope you get the package from me soon.
I finally got some sleep early this morning.. At least 5 hours, so now I´m longing to get back to bed for more sleep (I hope so anyway!)
